DPNow's Epson P-3000 review

DPNow has posted a new review of the excellent Epson P-3000 portable storage and viewing device.

I have the p2000 and used it extensively for many trips. It's an invaluable backup when you're on location and away from your laptop until the end of the day.

Funny thing is, when you're flicking through images, the hard drive whirls into action each time. Cute in a, 'I'm full of electronics!' kind of way.

The firm I work at (frog design: ) designed this, so great to see it getting reviewed! There were some things that we could control, and others not - of course having it slimmer and smaller would have been great. But the goal of creating a high-quality, premium feeling product geared towards the needs of pro/prosumer photographers was kept intact.

The P-3000 did seem a delight until the button that pushes out the card broke on the 3rd day of use. Getting Epson to recognize that the design or production is faulty (frog you say designed it, shame on them. they should know better than to have such a flimsy piece of plastic in a function that will be used freqently) is a nightmare. I highly recommend not purchasing this if you are going to use it frequently.
