Bzzz!

Reader ambroseliao nominates the Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG6 as the ugliest digital camera, because he left his in the bathroom and came back to find his father trying to shave with it.*

So is this the best/worst we can do?

*Not really.

The spypen web site has some funny looking cameras. The Oboe and AXS are two unusual ones:

They seem more funny than ugly to me, but at least I'm stirring the pot a little bit.

It's a camera, and a shaver...and a dessert topping! (with all due respect to SNL).

David is right, the Canon Powershot TX1 looks like it came from a cheesy Sci Fi film from the 50's. Yeesh, that's ugly.

I'd like to nominate Etyud(Etude), probably the simplest commercially manufactured camera ever.

You did not mention if it was a good shave

Greena,

According to Mike's definition, a camera is a light-tight box. Are you sure the Etyud(Etude) qualifies?

;-)

Darn. And I thought you were going to make up for your anti-lightmeter rant by reviewing a new spotmeter.

As far as curious looking cameras go, there is a wooden prototype pictured in _The Linhof Book_ for a precursor to the Linhof 220, which looks like a broadcast microphone of the early 1960s.
