A note from this morning:

I removed the Fuji banding post so as not to cause spurious rumors. As Aric confirmed for me, it was an OS/browser interaction issue—he saw what I was seeing, using the same OS (10.4.8) and browser (well, he uses Camino, I use Firefox—"same difference," as the expression has it). But when either of us downloaded the high res version all trace of the artefacts we were seeing went away. So I wasn't imagining things, but my post (even just suggesting a problem sometimes starts rumors of a problem) was a needless slander against the S5 and I thought the best thing would be simply to remove it.

It wasn't an OS issue, just a browser one. I checked it out using 10.4.8 and Safari and there was no banding to be found, both with the low and high res images.

With Firefox/Windows I saw a moire pattern on the dress. A scaling artifact I assume--Firefox and/or Fuji's web site resized the photo to fit my browser window.

But, since you guys downloaded the file, is that a trace of dried snot just inside the girl's left nostril? Tsk, tsk! and what fine detail and color resolution!

Sorry to be pedantic, but your post is titled 'Corection'. Ironically, it's misspelled.

Talking about browsers... if you use a Mac... why are you using Firefox - a non ICC-aware browser - to view photographs? Why not Safari (ICC-ruled)?

Because Blogger works best with Firefox. See what I do for you? (s)
