That Pentax Experience

This afternoon I shipped back to Pentax (late, for which I hope they don't put out a hit on me), a K100D that I've been trying out for a few days. To me it seems aptly named—it's as close to a spiritual heir to the famous K-1000 as a DSLR can be. Brief take: the viewfinder is a little bit smaller and a tiny bit brighter than the K-M 5D I compared it to; the shutter noise is on the loud side, but with a pleasingly businesslike zip-zip sound that makes the camera seem as responsive as it in fact is; and the shake-reduction mechanism is worse than the K-M 7D [sic—I compared it to one of those too] when the 7D is held horizontally, and better than the 7D when the latter is held vertically. I'll post expanded comments sometime after I'm back in more web-friendly surroundings.

I, too, am looking forward to your expanded thoughts on the K100. What I'm most interested in, I think, is how it compares with the K-M 5D and 7D in terms of color.

You've really sold me on the 7D's color reproduction, and if I can find a camera that performs similarly and can also use my old Pentax lenses, I'm sold.
