'On Being A Photographer' Mini-Review
Svein-Frode Gudbrandsen, whose good comments I've been nicking over the past couple of days, has written a nice mini-review of Bill Jay and David Hurn's On Being a Photographer on his photoheadlines web page. Don't miss his regular blog, either.

This terrific little book has been a favorite of mine for quite a while. It's one of those books that I really enjoy curling up with on cold, wet days over and over.
Brooks Jensen's LensWork has two other books that shares a "favorite" rating for me. Letting Go of the Camera is a terrific series of essays on photography and the creative processes that fuel it.
On Looking at Photographs is only available on CD. If you're at all interested in some of the "meaning of photos" discussions posted here recently you'll really enjoy this work. It's a thought-provoking discussion on the subject between David Hurn and Bill Jay.
